Thirty-two hopeful journalists have been shortlisted in the second round of the 2018 Journalism Diversity Fund, which could help pay for the cost of their NCTJ-accredited journalism training.

Six panels of senior industry figures will interview the candidates at the Financial Times in London across Thursday, 2 and Friday, 3 August.

Bursaries are awarded to those who have a passion for journalism, financial need and can demonstrate how they will bring diversity to the newsroom.

Bursaries can cover NCTJ course fees and/or travel and living expenses.

Due to the high demand in this cohort, and additional round of applications has been opened, allowing any late applicants to accredited courses the opportunity to apply to the fund.

Applications are open now.
