Can I Apply?
Individuals who make an application to the Journalism Diversity Fund MUST be able to meet ALL of the following criteria:
- provide proof that they have submitted an application or secured a place on an NCTJ accredited course starting in the academic year September 2012– August 2013. Those who have already started a course are not eligible to apply – bursaries must be awarded prior to the course commencing. Please visit the schedule section for a guide as to when you should apply. Bursaries are not available for distance learning courses;
- must come from a socially or ethnically diverse background;
- must not have the financial means to support themselves on an NCTJ-accredited course;
- you are a British citizen residing in the UK;
- can demonstrate genuine commitment and potential to be a successful journalist;
- must not be in receipt of any other bursary award.
NB: Applicants are responsible for ensuring all the above criteria are met and for checking with the NCTJ that the course applied for is an NCTJ-accredited course. Look out for the NCTJ-accredited course logo (pictured below).
